Airfield Information - Croft Farm Circuit

This is a satellite picture of the local area with the circuit superimposed.  Before arrival listen to Gloucestershire ATIS on 127.475 MHz.  Add 1 Mbar to their QFE for Croft Farm.

Call inbound DEFFORD RADIO is 119.100 MHz.  If no reply, look at the Wind Sock near the centre of the runway on the north side and join on the QDM at 1000 feet.  Maintain mode “C” in the circuit if available as sometimes there is high speed low level Military Traffic which is Ground Radar control.. 

ALL CIRCUITS TO THE SOUTH at 1000 feet. Avoid Defford and Eckington Villages.

Make standard circuit radio calls. 

09 TAKE OFF

At a safe height turn onto 120 degrees to avoid the village and improved forced landing opportunities:  Head towards the tower on top of Bredon Hill.

27 LANDING

If safe to do so fly a dog leg final on 300 degrees to avoid overflying Defford.

Keep the prominent WHITE BUILDING next to the railway bridge just on your RIGHT. 

LOOK OUT

Military aircraft fly LOW LEVEL and at high speed in this area. 

The strip is visited by large Military Helicopters, (Chinook and Puma) flying at heights as low as 50 feet. 

They ask before coming so if you ring for PPR we can share this information.

REMEMBER THE LOW FLYING RULES.  Croft Farm is NOT a licensed strip
